Buffer is the controlled delivery bridge between RI Social Media and connected social platforms. Destinations map approved accounts to the channels Buffer can deliver to.

Why Buffer is used
Buffer provides a single, auditable delivery path to multiple platforms without RI Social Media holding a direct publishing relationship with each one. Because the integration is a bridge rather than a system of record, it can be replaced with direct platform publishing later without changing campaign strategy, approvals, or evidence.
What is configured here
- Destination mapping — which approved account corresponds to which Buffer channel.
- Workspace isolation — destinations are scoped to the owning workspace.
- Connection readiness — whether the delivery bridge is configured and reachable.
- Approved platform identities — only registered accounts may be mapped.
A Buffer connection does not itself authorise publication. Publication still requires approval, workspace ownership, asset ownership, destination eligibility, and publication enablement.
Checks before relying on a destination
- The account exists and is active in Accounts.
- The destination maps to that account and to the correct platform identity.
- The destination belongs to the same workspace as the content.
- The connection reports ready.
